Investing in the Gospel

The Apostle Paul, appointed by the Lord to take the gospel to the nations, largely supported himself by practicing a trade (see, e.g., Acts 28:30 – “He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him.”). The Christians at Philippi occasionally provided him financial support. Paul considered them his partners in the furtherance of the gospel. Peter has styled his preaching ministry after Paul’s.
