What Bible Translation Does Peter Suggest?

Peter has settled on the ESV translation. It is a descendant of the KJV and the RSV. It is considered a “literal” translation, or as close as you can get to the original Greek (NT) while maintaining an understated elegance in English. The ESV isn’t perfect. For certain verses, Peter preaches his own translation derived from the Greek and various sources and translations.

The King James Version (KJV) is an accurate version, but is based upon a small number of manuscripts that included some mistakes and scribal edits. It is also more difficult to read.

The Message Bible and the Passion Translation are not translations, but the authors’ paraphrases of scripture. Peter suggests you do not use paraphrased Bibles for anything more than some light reading.
