A New Year for New Adventures
This past week I met all the goals that I had set out to accomplish in 2016. One of those goals was publishing 20 or more sermons on iTunes about scriptures that I had never heard preached. In doing so, I came to realize that I am in no way, shape, or form a professional preacher. But I also learned just how far off the mark the Church has gotten away from the revelation of God's Christ and even becoming born again. The apostle was spot on when he said folks' ears would itch, and they'd gather to themselves those who would scratch them.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears —2 Timothy 4:3
I don't plan to leave the podcast arena entirely; people need to hear the Word. But after reading through the Revenge of Analog and combing through a few dozen independent magazines, we concluded that a printed, independent voice heralding the Gospel and fruits of righteousness was an excellent adventure for 2017. It's fun and exciting and risky all at the same time. And you know, we already have 80% of our first issue mapped out, and I don't think there is anything like out there anywhere. If you thought the podcasts were good, you'll definitely want to subscribe to Breath.
So, what of the blog here? I plan to keep this going too, but I'm returning it back to its original state—a blog, an informal, online journal. So, expect to see more personal pieces. More pictures. More every day stuff. And maybe even some outtakes of our foray into publishing. Stay tuned. It's going to be a fun, fun year.
